Start with the evidence
Request current definitions of a lead, service fit, geography, timing, number of recipients, invalid-request process and billing trigger. Clarify whether the contact has requested the relevant service and what communications are permitted. Keep vendor claims separate from outcomes you have personally verified.
A worked example
Fictional offers: Offer A says one purchaser receives a contact record; Offer B sends a request to several providers. Neither description guarantees the customer is suitable, still needs service or will choose you. If Offer A excludes calls outside a broad region but your own coverage is smaller, its contractual validity rule may not match your operational fit.
Choose the next action
Build a comparison using the same actual service requirements and total cost categories. Review the applicable agreement before relying on refund or exclusivity language. Ask how disputes and duplicates are documented. Avoid publishing claims about a named provider without fresh evidence or using a hypothetical offer as an industry standard.
Check whether it worked
For an authorized bounded test, reconcile received contacts to distinct inquiries and known outcomes. Record unsuitable and unresolved cases with the provider’s stated process separately from your internal classification. Compare handling cost and capacity demands, not just the advertised price per record. A paid lead is an input to the business, not a completed job.
