Answer / Improve local visibility

How should you choose towing Business Profile categories and services?

Choose categories and service descriptions that match the business you actually operate. Verify available options in the current interface instead of treating any industry phrase as a supported category.

Check the profile evidence

Write down the main customer need the business fulfills, the operator-confirmed services and any work explicitly excluded. Compare that with the current primary and additional categories. Separate a platform category, a service description and a phrase customers use; they are not interchangeable fields. Google’s business-representation rules require accurate representation.

A worked example

Fictional example: a light-duty towing business also receives lockout requests but only provides that service when a qualified person is available. A category or service claim should not make that conditional capability look like a permanently staffed specialty. Another company owns a specialized vehicle but does not currently offer that service to the public; ownership alone does not justify advertising availability.

Choose the next action

Review the available category choices in the authorized profile and select according to the actual primary business. Add only accurate service descriptions, with appropriate limitations where the interface allows them. Record the prior setting and reason for any change. Avoid adding unrelated categories simply because they sound like valuable search terms.

Check whether it worked

Verify the public display and monitor the kinds of inquiries received. More visibility for unsupported services is not an improvement in demand quality. If callers still misunderstand capability, compare the website and ad language before cycling through categories. Keep the capability review with the operator responsible for accepting work.
